Gotcha

I'm very good at being inconspicuous with my camera phone. I got some pictures from the last two weeks.
Here's Michael debriefing with Josh about his enrollment.

This is Michael at his first enrollment.

Here's Sol making her first appearance on the blog. She helped Michael with the Spanish-speakers.
Michael has been the hot agent the latter part of June. He's up for his fireball award this week!
Diana starts her third week and her first enrollment!
Josh hit his FAME award with 5-6 weeks so we've been cruising this quarter. I want to say that Ted is on track for FAME. I think Regina is too. Congrats!

GoKarts Again

We had a contest for getting PAA's signed and the winners would race GoKarts! So a few weeks ago, the winners donned the jumpsuits and the ninja-like headcovers to see who is the best driver.

We are not ninjas, rogue agents, or bandits! I'm going to guess on the names but here I go. From left to right: Hortencia, Nathan, Eric, Guillermo, Isa, Jason, Pat, and Brent. Josh showed up later.

It's difficult to take pictures of the racing because the action is fast. Here's one picture that turned out decent.

Here's what part of the track looked like.

The winners: 1st place: GERONIMOOOOOOO! 2nd place: Nate 3rd place: Brent
I will admit that Guillermo is a much better driver than me and the rest of the group. I will go on record to say that I think Eric got an early jump on a yellow flag that turned to green but he got what coming to him later in the race with a spin-out. Honestly, Eric was a good driver too.

Ok, I've got the blogging up to date I think. It's been a long while since I did this.

The Next Generation

The first week of May marked my one year anniversary with Aflac! I am happy to be here.
The first week of June marked my one year anniversary of the week I wrote my first policies. My first policies were direct policies on a guy that walked into our office for coverage. You know that doesn't happen often, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it! One year isn't a long time, so I honestly do not feel like a veteran, but in a way, I am. The next generation is here.

I wanted to brag on three new members of the Abstract Team. Michael used to be the newest member to the team (he is still the youngest though). Now we welcome Diana as our newest agent as well as Tom, our intern! Welcome aboard.

Michael has caught fire this week! He's got his 1st re-enrollment on Thursday, his 1st group enrollment on Friday, and he has got many other writing opportunities that are lining up for the next few weeks. His activity level is high. Great work dude! He has three weeks to hit his fireball. I believe he can do it.

Diana finished her second day with us and she is already going to be on the weekly premium board with 3 policies written today! She might not feel comfortable with the procedures or the scripts or the products, but that is ok. We got some sales for her and I believe she is going to be a primetime player for our region. She has only just begun...

Tom is our intern and I'm really glad that he is with us too. Tom set at least 5 appointments and I honestly think he has a knack for this! Don't let the ponytail fool you, he's the real deal on the phones. I think he makes a great addition to the team. Now Tom, when are you going to go for it and go for your license???

There are two -three more people that have gone through the interview process and now are awaiting the insurance class and the licensing. I believe they will be on board by the end of July! Jason has one person in the same position. Team Abstract and the Giants region continue to grow! Yes!!!!!!!

I'm really sly with my cell phone camera. I'll get pictures of the next generation up here really soon!

Randomness

Accidents happen. No, that's not a pen mark on my face. That's a scab on my cut. So, my brother is cleaning out the refrigerator and find something hidden in the back. He knows it's moldy, smelly, and outright nasty. My younger brother then has a bright idea of sharing his findings with me. He puts the container right up to my face to let me inhale the fumes. I immediately have to turn my head because I just can't stand the smell. Well, as I turn my head away from the container, I have a close encounter with the elliptical machine. Bam! Need I say more? I didn't seek medical treatment for the cut because it's a superficial wound. It takes more than a small cut on my face to go to the hospital for emergency treatment. Since I didn't seek treatment, my accident plan does not kick in. Oh well. I'm fine. The cut on my face definitely makes a good conversation piece though.

This is my phone book ad! Cool huh? I'm going to try it out to see if this is a good way to market my business. It's compliant. I had to go through the proper channels to get it approved and I'm satisfied. I got a corner page which I am very happy about and it is the biggest ad on that page! When I saw it I had a flashback to a 1979 movie. There was a funny scene about a phone book. If you saw the movie and remember the scene, you'll laugh at the quote.
"The new phone book's here! The new phone book's here! This is the kind of spontaneous publicity I need! My name in print! That really makes me somebody! Things are going to start happening now." from the movie The Jerk

This is me and a policyholder! In this group, I gave away a iPod shuffle as an incentive item. I have one and I think it's a great for people on the go and for people who like to listen to music when they work out.
Finally, in other random news, I was reviewing some resumes online and I came across a peculiar one. The guy is a yoga instructor/gardener! I think he was looking for yoga gigs.

Aflac on Nightline

Here's a link to an article: http://abcnews.go.com/nightline/story?id=3265903&page=1

I stayed up to watch the clip. I thought it was a very positive story and really puts Aflac on the map as a cutting-edge business.
